A New Home for Cream

Originally posted on Tumblr, 2 September 2015.

Toward the end of 2012, we released a novel new newsreader app called Cream. Cream was a no-fuss stream reader like many others; what made it special was that it used advanced learning algorithms to help sift through all the stories in your feeds, and would just show you the ones you would most likely want to read based on past reading habits.

Cream was featured by Apple on launch, and sold well for a while, but eventually sales dropped off and we moved on to other things. It got a few bug fixes along the way, but for the most part has not changed over the past 3 years.

Recently, we decided it would be better for Cream to let another developer take over, so we are happy to announce that Tuparev Technologies will be developing Cream from now on. Today they released their first update to the product on the Mac App Store (link no longer available), and they have big plans for moving it forward.

Tuparev Technologies is a company with a long history in development for Apple platforms, even extending back to the NeXT days. They are good friends of The Mental Faculty B.V., and were an obvious candidate when we started considering who could do justice to Cream.

With Tuparev Technologies at the helm, we are sure Cream will once again rise to the top! (Sorry!)
